The Time Has Come

My heart is full of love and joy as I reminisce and reflect on the past year.  There are so many wonderful memories of the students and all the special moments our Preschool Family have shared.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you the people who have made this year possible.  THANK YOU PARENTS! It is you who have made this program possible.  Without your trust in us to love, teach, serve, and care for your children, our school would not be the success it is today.  Your children are why we do what we do.  We love them and want the very best for them. Thank you, parents, for allowing us to be in your children’s lives.

Also, I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who has supported Methodist Preschool in so many ways:  Canyon Lake United Methodist Church Pastor Mark Porterfield for trusting me with the direction of this program, the CLUMC Trustee Board members who graciously supply the preschool with all the necessities (building, utilities, and such), the CLUMC congregation for the endless volunteer hours and funds they manage to find to help our program run smoothly, and the Methodist Preschool Board members who have given me such a wonderful opportunity to serve the community and allowed me to create a preschool where children of Canyon Lake will learn the love of God and acquire a love a learning that will last a lifetime.

Most of all, I want to thank the TEACHERS AND STAFF at Methodist Preschool.  Your dedication to your profession, the students and their families, the Canyon Lake community, and to this school, and your love for the students, families, and each other, are why we have such a successful program. THANK  YOU!

Many hours go into putting together a successful end of the year program event.  This year, our end of the year student program was no exception.  Beginning in January, the students began learning songs that they would be “singing for mommies and daddies”.  Every week, we practiced the songs, learned the movements, and rehearsed where we would carry out the performance.  The children wriggled and wrestled.  The teachers coached and coddled.  Sometimes, it was a battle just to get them to the sanctuary for practice!  But, by God’s grace and mercy, we were able to get them ready for the big day.

Please enjoy this video (created by one of our awesome congregation members!) of our end of the year student program.

The time has come to say goodbye to our students and their families, our Preschool friends, our classrooms, and our teachers for the 2017-2018 school year.  We will see each other next fall for another year of love, laughter, and learning.

“Goodbye, friends.  Yee-Haw!”
